Can I do an apprenticeship or internship at Jaderpark?

Apprenticeship:

Jaderpark is not a training provider.

Therefore, an apprenticeship as an animal keeper or in other fields is not possible with us.

Further information can be found here: https://www.zootierpflege.de/startseite.html
Internship:

We regret to inform you that we are currently unable to accept any interns. This applies to both school internships and internship inquiries related to career exploration.

Voluntary Ecological Year:
As a private institution, we are not a participating organization and therefore cannot offer this program.

Does Jaderpark participate in Future Day?

Dear prospective student,

unfortunately, we are unable to participate in Future Day. The considerable organizational and staffing effort required is beyond the capacity of our employees. The zookeepers would have to dedicate significant time to supervising the students, leaving them with hardly any time for their actual work.

We hope you understand and find another opportunity to participate in Future Day.

Am I allowed to bring food and drinks into the park?

Yes — bringing your own food and drinks is generally permitted.

However, please note that consumption is only allowed in the designated picnic areas of the park.

Consuming food and drinks brought from outside is not permitted in our food service areas.

Season Pass

Why isn't the season ticket available digitally yet?

Currently, we don't offer the season ticket in digital form because our existing point-of-sale systems don't yet support all the necessary functions. In particular, topping up credit and automatically applying discounts at various checkout areas cannot yet be fully implemented via a digital card.

However, we are already working intensively on a new system that will enable these features in the future. Our goal is to offer the season ticket digitally as soon as all the technical requirements are reliably implemented.

Why is there no photo on my season ticket?

We deliberately chose not to print photos on the season ticket. The image you provide is displayed directly in our point-of-sale system each time you visit.

By storing the photo digitally, we save resources and avoid unnecessary material consumption.

I've lost my season ticket – what should I do?

In case of loss or theft, a replacement ticket will be issued for a fee of €15.00. The replacement will be issued on-site upon presentation of a valid passport or passport photo for data verification.

I forgot my season ticket – what can I do?

Unfortunately, entry without a season ticket is not possible.

We therefore recommend that you always have a clear photo of the front and back of your season ticket on your smartphone. In many cases, the barcode on this photo can be scanned at the entrance.

Can I use my day ticket towards the purchase of a season ticket?

Yes — if you enjoyed your visit, you can use your day ticket towards the purchase of a season ticket.

Whether the day ticket was purchased on-site at the ticket office or online:

You can have the ticket price credited towards the purchase of a season ticket at the ticket office until 5:00 PM on the day of your visit.

Animals

I'd like to give the gift of petting and feeding animals!

We are frequently asked whether petting, feeding, or caring for certain wild animal species is possible as a gift for various occasions.

We have to answer this question with "No."

We offer closer contact, where possible, at our public events (→ demonstration and hands-on feedings).

For many reasons (animal health, hygiene, safety), we cannot offer any further opportunities.

Thank you for your understanding!

Why are there fewer animal enclosures at Jaderpark than before?

Jaderpark is constantly evolving. Some older enclosures no longer met current building and animal welfare standards and were therefore dismantled. At the same time, we are using the freed-up space to create new adventure and recreation areas for families.

Will there be no more animals at Jaderpark in the future?

Yes, there will be. Animals are and will remain an important part of Jaderpark. However, we will focus on fewer species in the future and invest specifically in high-quality habitats and intensive care.

Why aren't vacant enclosures re-occupied?

Societal expectations regarding animal husbandry have changed significantly in recent years. At the same time, modern, responsible animal husbandry is very demanding.

Therefore, we have consciously decided not to constantly expand our animal population, but rather to focus on the animals that live with us – with extensive expertise, time, and suitable habitats.
