A visit to the petting zoo is a must
We have two enclosures in the park where you can visit the animals up close.
During the walk, you’ll first come across a small herd of alpacas. This small South American camel is a domesticated animal and is prized for its particularly soft and warm wool. Camels have a somewhat bad reputation because they are said to spit in self-defence. Whilst this is true, it only comes into play during territorial battles between the males. Humans are spared this. The prerequisite, of course, is not to provoke the animals. The second enclosure is home to a group of pygmy goats. This little gang is delighted to see every visitor. The animals can sometimes hardly wait to get their hands on some of the feed. So things can get a bit chaotic from time to time. There’s only one thing to do here: keep calm.
Behaviour in the petting enclosures
- Only our own pet food may be used. Please bear in mind the health of our animals.
- Please respect our animals’ need for rest when they withdraw to a quiet spot.
